About
As the child of two biologists, I became interested early in how living things are constructed. Backyard dissections felt like a normal part of growing up.
I earned a degree in Physics before moving to New York City. After some time there, I relocated to California to pursue science illustration formally, completing the Science Illustration Certificate Program at California State University, Monterey Bay.
Over the years, I have taught science illustration at California State University, Monterey Bay and the University of California, Santa Cruz. My freelance clients have included the Exploratorium, Edible Magazine, Graze Magazine, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, WIRED Magazine, and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Today, my studio practice continues to explore the natural world through drawing and painting, informed by a background in science, engineering, and careful attention.
